Live Sketches 2012
One of the first more exaggerated caricatures that was actually a success. I like the likeness on her more so than the guy.
Her nose is my favorite
Not so crazy but the couple was too easy ...that likeness.
These two were quiet the entire time I was drawing them. I happened to be alone at the stand at the time and when people were stopping to watch (which is honestly one of my favorite things ever, being able to stop a crowd is awesome) they started to get a lil antsy. I explained to them that they were getting a "really good" sketch but they still didn't know. I went out kind of on a limb but the result was awesome and they ended up loving the drawing.
I think this is the best live sketch I've ever done. Has a nice level of cartoony exagerration and had 100%likeness.
Here are a few sketches from my job at Seaworld . I get to meet a lot of cool people and when in the mood go a little further to give them something unique and living room wall worthy. I have reference pics on my facebook page so if you want to see the people you can add me.

MAEQUES collaboration celebration
I work with this other young artist named Mae who brings as much energy and enthusiasm to wanting to improve in caricature art as I do. Often it's this guy Andy Urzua (whose kinda a big deal) who gives us tips and makes work a lot more fun. Mae and I did a live collaboration of Andy where we would take turns drawing lines and features and coloring the drawing.
I get high with a lil help from my friends
Urzua
Briana
Hodge
Ms. Mae
rachel new caricature artist this summer
Nate Dogg
Krista's big face
These are a few friends from work that I've had the chance to draw. It's a lot more fun because you get to think out your idea more and try to capture more of that individuals personality than you can in a live sketch for a customer. Also these guys were waaaay more appreciative than the customers.

The Hateocracy
One of my favorite cartoon/anime/awesome shows of all time is The Boondocks. Every season the art really progressed and its really obvioius when you watch an earlier episode compared to a more recent one. These images are from the 3rd season an episode title "The Hateocracy", about a group of old n***as that "travel the world hating on people and fuckin n***as up." Awesome episode and if you haven't seen it you should check it out, (especially if you happen to be into classic kung fu flicks).
These were done in 2010. I hand drew the sketches then added the color and hatching with prisma markers.
Loop Digga
Old drawing I did of one of the most talented musicians Hip Hop music has ever seen. I don't use the term musician lightly either. I must have done this around 2009, now its buried in a sketchbook somewhere but still happens to be one of my fav sketches.

Now you see me
Hello out there. My name is Marques. I like to draw, and listen to music, and watch sports, and watch movies, and to draw. I started this blog to share my art with who ever happens to see this.
I currently work at SeaWorld in San Diego drawing caricatures. It has been a great experience so far and I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by some incredible artists. It's inspired me enough to start this blog. I hope you enjoy what I post. I'll keep it updated as much as possible.
